Proposal one-liner:
Strengthening and enhancing the efficiency of the systems operations.
Value proposition:
More user-friendly option for the end-users shall be achieved
Brief explanation
The caseworkers in the field tend to waste a lot of time scrolling for previous years when updating their case files. For example, in South Sudan we are currently cleaning our database. So, it becomes difficult to continuous scroll days, months and years especially when backdating (let`s share 2020, from the current option, the caseworkers are required to continuously click. Which takes lots of time)
This needs further investigation as whatever is chosen needs to be very good with localization. I guess something in the react ecosystem is though. Personally I think we should totally rip out the datepicker and let the native browser handle dates through html5. We just need validation then
I’d like to know a bit more about the 2 approaches you’re suggesting. Which would require more work to implement? Which would be easier to maintain in the long run? What reasons do you have for preferring to rely on the browser/HTML5?
In Primero v2.11.0, we have upgraded React JS. As part of this work, we were forced to change the datepicker widget we use. This new widget allows you to type in a date, which I know was a requested feature from some users. We would appreciate some updated feedback on the new datepicker to see if it requires further changes. Thanks!
